The Elemental House proposes a new home typology: one that is centered around the kitchen, which becomes a domestic theatre. The open core places importance on the elemental aspects of habitation: the hearth, cooking, and the coming together of those who live in the house. Every room has direct access to the central core / hearth, inviting in smells, sounds, and entertaining social life within the household. Spaces become more private as they radiate away from the core.

The Elemental House centers the kitchen, where cooking, food, and sharing meals brings people together and becomes the heart of the home.
